Walk begins at 10am
One in 5 Americans is affected by mental health conditions. Ending the stigma around mental illness will help eliminate the shame, fear and silence that prevent many people from seeking help and treatment. You can show your support for the millions of people impacted by mental illness by walking with NAMI Mid-Carolina on May 4th.
This family friendly event will feature entertainment and fun for the whole family, including music by TJ McKay, a game truck from Palmetto Mobile Arcade, food trucks, and a guest appearance by Miss Lexington, Yvanna Garcia. The Walk will kick-off with a warm-up led by James Patrick the Fitness Guru. Organizations will also be present to provide information on mental health resources in our community.
The Columbia walk is one of nearly 100 across the country bringing awareness of mental health issues. In addition, the walk raises the funds needed to provide help and hope to families and individuals here in our own community.
Gather your friends & family, work colleagues or club members and create a team, join an existing team or register to walk as an individual. However, you don’t have to walk to donate and support the mission of NAMI Mid-Carolina.
